Competing history:

Thirteen years of triathlon racing, usually one 70.3 and one Ironman each year. Started as a total beginner with no cycling or running background and barely able to swim. Have progressed to good Age Group positions in races and in recent years have qualified for the 70.3 World Finals and twice been selected for GBR Team for European Long Distance Champs.

Your future goals:

To qualify for the Ironman World Final in Hawaii, hopefully at Ironman UK Bolton July 2019

Which camp(s) have you attended:

None yet… but have known Martin and Matt for years and have had previous coaching experiences with them – at our local triathlon club

What do you enjoy about our training approach:

Training is varied with lots of detail to follow which keeps it interesting. Each session is fully explained and clear. Program is written around my busy lifestyle and fits in with what training hours I can realistically achieve.

Favourite session type:

Bike sessions, long turbo sessions with some good films on the DVD player and hard interval sessions on the WattBike are my favourites. Steady paced long runs outdoors in nice weather are also enjoyable.

Number 1 fact learnt from our coaching:

Having hit a performance plateau, I realised I needed to do something different as just repeating my old training program will only get me the same results as before. Matt and Martin have now got me training specifically to be a triathlete rather than swimmer/cyclist/runner.
